Anything that contains chocolate seems to be my weakness. It's even more tempting if peanut butter and chocolate are combined.
I don't beat myself up if I do indulge and I've come to understand how to combat my cravings.
One thing I noticed is that if I don't sleep well I tend to crave sugar in the afternoon.
I suppose my body is looking for an alternative energy source.
When I sleep well I really don't crave sugar.
Also, I've found that when I eat plenty of protein at lunch I'm not hungry an hour or two after that meal.
It's a fact that protein keeps you fuller for longer than carbs because it takes longer to digest.
This is what works for me and if you struggle with sugar cravings here are a few more ideas you can try.
1. Eat fruit instead.
Fruit does have some sugar, but it's natural not added like many processed foods.
You also get the benefit of vitamins, minerals and fiber with fruit.
2. Get it out of your home or office.
If sweet treats are around, you will eat them.
Just stop buying sweet treats and that might solve your problem.
Hope these tips help you control your sugar cravings.
Try them and let me know what happens.
