Fat loss and toning muscles are very common goals with a lot of the people I work with. It takes a combination of consistent exercise over a long period of time, sound nutrition, quality sleep and stress management to achieve fat loss.
My goal with this blog is to simplify the exercise factor for you by showing you one simple workout using one exercise, the kettlebell swing.
Before you start any kettlebell workout make sure that you have dialed in your technique and have the right sized bells for your workouts.
This workout uses a 1:1 work to rest ratio in order to achieve fat loss and improve your endurance. You will only perform kettlebell swings. Simple, but not easy.
You will perform 10 swings, which takes approximately 15 seconds, rest for 15 seconds, perform 10 swings, rest 15 seconds and so on and so forth until you have reached your desired time or number of reps.
You will terminate your workout when you feel that your technique is starting to waiver or you cannot produce sufficient power with each swing. The goal isn't failure, but rather to maintain a high level of effort/power over the course of your workout.
Starting out you may only be able to keep this work to rest ratio up for a few minutes. Over time and with consistent practice you will be able to build up your stamina to the point where you can do this workout for 20 minutes resulting in several hundred swings and burning lots of calories.
Keep track of your workouts and chart your progress because you can't measure what you don't track.
